Primavera Sound Los Angeles makes its long-awaited debut in 2022. It is a spinoff of the popular Barcelona Primavera Sound music festival that has taken place since 2001 and has had a satellite festival in Porto since 2012. This year, Los Angeles joins Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires and São Paolo in having their inaugural Primavera Sound festivals. The festival was initially planned to debut in 2020 but a pandemic intervened, canceling all versions of Primavera Sound in 2020 and 2021. The festival is a 3-day event with each day featuring one very popular, big name headliner preceded by a wide variety acts both in terms of fame and genre, but with an emphasis on indie rock/pop and acts from the Spanish-speaking world. In addition to the larger festival at Los Angeles State Historic Park, the Primavera In The City program sponsors 10 concerts at local LA venues September 13-20, tickets for which can be purchased here.
