Divino Niño is a Chicago based indie pop band whose music has a good deal of the '50s retro pop sound complete with every "oooooh" 'and "lalala" and "bam bam", one would expect, combined with a "dream pop meets psychedelic pop" approach, and low key, care-free, bouncy melodies. The two leads of the band, guitarist Camilo Medina and bassist Javier Forero were childhood friends back in Bogotá where they grew up, and some of those Latin roots seep into their music. They sing both in English and Spanish. Their melodies are light and breezy, with a gentle uplift and traces of disco-inspired pop that dominated the radio in the late '70s. On their 2022 album, Last Spa on Earth, they began to stretch stylistically into contemporary Latin pop with more pronounced Colombian/Latin beats, including some reggaeton.
