Darkside

Darkside is the collaboration between Nicolás Jaar, an experimental electronic music/ambient/noise artist and Dave Harrington, a guitarist and serial collaborator with an experimental streak. Contrasting with their individual output, the duo appears to be far more interested in perhaps not so much coloring inside the lines but at least acknowledging that the lines exist when they work together as Darkside. They play in the downtempo style with grooves that lie somewhere between house and trip-hop. There is often an intricate interplay between the acoustic instruments (some sweet guitar work there), nicely layered electronic effects, percussive textures, and rich atmospherics. Their gentle vocals contribute to their warm and organic sound.
