Treefort Music Festival is a 5-day, indie rock focused festival that takes place in Boise, ID, every March, the week after SXSW. It began in 2012, with its timing deliberately arranged to attract bands returning to the Northwest after performing at SXSW. It was an immediate success and has continued to expand since then. More than 500 artists will perform at this year's edition, only a fraction of whom are included in the released lineup. Shows are at various venues throughout Boise, but there is a main stage in Julia Davis Park that hosts the biggest performances.
In addition to music, Treefort includes exhibitions, discussions and Q&A sessions on a variety of subjects, each of which gets its own sub-festival, named with a -fort suffix (e.g., Alefort, Foodfort, Storyfort, Filmfort, etc.).
A playlist featuring this year's lineup is available on Spotify.
