Hinds is an indie rock band that came out of Madrid's garage rock scene in the early '10s. They tend to exude enthusiasm and playfulness rather than grim and doom. The two singer/guitarists Carlotta Cosials and Ana Garcia Perrote trade lines, harmonize, and interlock their vocals effectively. They mostly sing in English and occasionally in Spanish. Each successive album saw their original lo-fi, rough sound get more polished, and the band become more melody-driven, and prove that they can produce catchy tunes with the best of them. There is also a hint of surf rock lurking below the surface, though the real standout in Hinds' work is their knack for putting together fun, charming melodies regardless of how much production they have decided to put into the songs.
