Chastity Belt

Chastity Belt is an indie rock band whose style has been gradually evolving into an artsier indie pop in each successive album since their lo-fi, grunge-adjacent '90s inspired debut. The band has always had a special talent in coming up with cool hooks and memorable melodies. They have some of the better dual guitar interactions out there, and a solid rhythm section that anchors their music. The sardonic, fun, and goofy lyrics and punk energy displayed in their earlier albums have now been replaced by a calm, contemplative mood. The songs have grown more introspective, and their songwriting has become more subtle, more sophisticated, and more captivating. The atmospheric elements stepped unambiguously to the front on their fourth album in 2019, while their 2024 album Live Laugh Love, brought them back to a mellower Pacific Northwest sound.
