Illuminati Hotties

Illuminati Hotties is a band/project of Los Angeles-based singer/guitarist Sarah Tudzin and her generally up-tempo, pop-flavored indie songs and infectiously sunny melodies. Tudzin is quite a figure: she has a knack for putting together instantly accessible and hummable tunes with a lot of nice, bouncy energy about them. Her music makes use of some garage rock inspired noise and experimentation with different styles (Caribbean, for instance), which she did especially in their second album. She plays all her instruments in some of the IH albums, which is not all that uncommon in today's music scene. But she also brings an impressive production value to the albums, due in no small part to the fact that her other job happens to be a mixer and a recording engineer. Her albums almost always sound sharp and impeccable even when she is delivering quiet and intimate songs that would have been perfectly fine as lo-fi bedroom recordings.
