Ducks Ltd

Ducks Ltd. is the duo Tom Mcgreevy and Evan Lewis who take some of the classic jangle pop of the '80s, as popularized by bands like The Go-Betweens, and throw in a bit more pep. Their music is joyously up-tempo. The guitars come with a healthy amount of reverb as they chime away and jangle along, well written catchy song after well written catchy song. They also keep them concise as they get into the song, make their point, and wrap it up without lingering any further. Mcgreevy's smooth voice takes over the lead vocals on their 2021 album, Modern Fiction, though Lewis also pitched in on their earlier EP. There is some sense of melancholy in their lyrics, but that mostly turns into an afterthought for the listener who has already been captivated by the band's uplift.
