PawPaw Rod is the stage name used by the singer-songwriter and alternative R&B artist Rodney Hulsey who creates laid-back R&B that mixes it with lively indie pop on the one hand and hints of '70s style retro soul on the other. His music makes use of a lot of downtempo funk grooves, mixing it with occasional rapping. He sings with a Kid Cudi like cadence for the most part, also with a similar sense of melody and overall feel. Hie has been keeping his arrangements nice and airy, with some light keyboard action in the back with vocal multi-tracks, at least thus far. His songs are catchy and have a nice, bouncy flow.
