Ana Frango Elétrico
Hick Duarte
Ana Frango Elétrico (a childhood nickname, originally Ana Faria Fainguelernt) is a Rio based singer-songwriter multi-instrumentalist producer who revisits the '70s Brazilian boogie sound with a contemporary pop perspective, updating it in places, and taking a sharp turn here and there. Their music moves effortlessly through pop, funk, and disco, while weaving a number of Brazilian elements into the sound, whether subtle bossa or samba accents, breezy '70s pop sound, or on occasion, the jazzy and sophisticated undertones of mid-century pop. They present a wildly diverse sound from a stylistic point of view, that is also lush and sparkly in its production, inspired and exciting in its compositions, and horizon broadening for adventurous ears.
