Buffalo Traffic Jam

Out of Bozeman, MT, where bisons are known to stop the traffic when they feel like it, comes the acoustic duo Buffalo Traffic Jam, i.e., Frankie Cassidy and Nathan Ross, who play indie folk with a cinematic flair that evokes broad landscapes. They tend to balance a sense of vast horizons with an intrinsically traditional feel that gives them a wider appeal along the lines of Noah Kahan and The Lumineers. Cassidy's gruff voice adds an aged and beaten texture to their songs that, when combined with their storytelling and melancholic vibes, gives their music an almost mournful tone. Their songs tend to be not so much an invitation to stand up and clap hands, but to pause and turn inwards for introspection.
