New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 2026
Outline
The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (Jazz Fest) is an extremely large festival taking place over two Spring weekends at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans, Louisiana. It has been around since 1970 when local cultural, government and hospitality leaders enlisted the help of Newport Jazz Festival organizer George Wein in planning a similar festival in Jazz's birthplace. Attendance has grown to 475,000, more than the population of Orleans Parish.
Jazz Fest isn't all about jazz. It features many other musical styles of the region: gospel, Cajun, zydeco, blues, R&B, rock, funk, African, Latin, Caribbean and folk. As Jazz Fest has grown, it has come to include huge pop star headliners. From its beginnings, Jazz Fest has also included booths for local arts & crafts and, of course, the food that New Orleans is famous for.

No re-entry. No chairs, umbrellas, blankets or beach towels. Event is all-ages, all attendees 2 and up require a ticket, VIP area is 21+. Clear bag policy in effect.
