Raye

Raye is the singer-songwriter Rachel Keen, an R&B artist who honed her skills as a vocalist and a songwriter through her collaborations with various artists over the years and the high quality R&B recordings she released in the second half of the '10s. Having gained control of her work in 2021, she emerged two years later as an artist with a mature vision and a highly personal voice on her album My 21st Century Blues (2023). A combination of pop and R&B remains the core of her music though she also taps into hip-hop and neo soul, the latter with Amy Winehouse type vibes and similar force (check out "The Thrill is Gone", for instance). She writes clear hooks and strings them like a veteran, adorning them with strong lyrics that combine sharp phrasing and brutal honesty, delivered with full conviction.
