Omar Apollo is a singer-songwriter originally from Guadalajara by way of Hobart, Indiana, and now based in Los Angeles who works in the more pop side of R&B. Artistically he follows the path Frank Ocean laid earlier with his success in pushing the boundaries of the genre. Apollo's music moves along a similar axis with his laid-back beats, swoony vocals, and stripped down arrangements. His music strongly gravitates towards pop, which he is fairly good at since he has the songwriting chops and the production team that knows how to add sparkles to his presentation without going overboard. He has a a flexible voice that can deliver songs in different tones and style, including his well-executed falsetto.
