Kali Uchis

Kali Uchis (born Karly-Marina Loaiza) is a pop artist with strong R&B and Latin influences in her music. She sings in a smooth voice with a little smoke that suggests hints of the Sade, perhaps. She also sings in Spanish half the time, most prominently on her 2020 album Sin Miedo... showing her part Colombian, Latin roots. R&B is fairly central to her work, especially the way she has been gravitating towards a mixture of old school slow jam and sultry soul, turning out late night slow burners while still grounded in her Latin style rhythmic flourishes. She has been quite a popular collaborator throughout her career, having worked with practically a who's who in the pop field, often at the top of their games themselves, ranging from Omar Apollo and Tyler the Creator to Kaytranada and Gorillaz.
