The Osheaga Music and Arts Festival (Festival Musique et Arts Osheaga) is a 3-day, outdoor, Summer music festival held in Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte Hélène in Montreal. It began in 2006 with ambitions of establishing itself as a destination festival with both indie cred and wide appeal and has been quite successful, featuring impressive lineups and drawing large crowds (around 120,000). Performers hail from all over the world, but there is also very significant national and local representation among them. The festival holds official afterparties that take place after the festival performances have ended at 11 pm.
The name of the festival refers to the region where Montreal is situated.
