Wet Leg

Wet Leg is an indie pop band that more or less came out of nowhere in 2021 and burned through the radio waves with their impossibly infectious single, Chaise-Longue. The single turned out be a pretty good indication of the band's overall direction, which is a mixture of the upbeat post-punk that grew out of bands like Violent Femmes but with airier melodies (also see Gustaf, Shopping, and others) and an irreverent approach to songwriting that is more than willing to be goofy and fun. Their songs convey an irrepressible sense of pop and the vocalist Rhian Teasdale delivers her witty and playful lines with a touch of glee in her eyes.
