Levitation is a 4-day festival that takes place in Austin, Texas, towards the tail end of the festival season in late October. It started out as Austin Psych Fest in 2008, but was given a name change in 2015. As its origins suggest, the festival pays extra attention to psychedelic bands, but it is a relatively diverse festival that covers indie rock, punk, and adjacent genres. It takes place in the city, particularly in the Red River District, along the Red River, on the eastern end of the downtown area, close to I-35 freeway, but it has extended its geographic scope somewhat this year. Participating venues in 2023 are Stubb's, Mohawk, Empire Control Room, Hotel Vegas, Parish, The Concourse Project, Elysium, The Far Out Lounge, 13th Floor and Antone's.
