Gurriers

Gurriers are a Dublin based Irish band that play in the post-punk style with punk relishes that may be reminiscent of the early period Fontaines D.C. in particular, but also other contemporaries like IDLES. They are shouty, loud, and fiery in similar ways. Vocalist Dan Hoff has plenty of sociopolitical frustrations he would like you to know about, and he pours them into the songs as he drifts between speak-singing and bellowing. Their music is strongly guitar-driven, with strong riffs and memorable hooks. It is gloriously unpolished, tastefully rough, and leans heavily into the noise element. The band is good at delivering a powerful punch on the nose, sonically speaking, but they also have a lower gear that they use effectively as a way to build tension.
