The Pickathon Music Festival has been around since 1999. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, it was canceled for 2020 and 2021, but returned in 2022 at the same location it has called home since 2006: Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, Oregon. Apart from musical and other performers, the festival is known for its dedication to environmentally sustainable practices and encouraging festival goers to use low impact transportation, especially biking, even arranging group rides from nearby Portland. While the musical lineups tend to be quite diverse, it could be described as an indie music festival in that performers are not likely to be stadium-filling acts on their own, but it is not limited to indie rock/pop. Jazz, Hip-hop, Country/Americana and Electronic artists are also among the performers.
