The South Hill Experiment

The South Hill Experiment (aka S/H/E) is the brothers Baird and Gabe Acheson, originally from Baltimore but currently working out of Los Angeles. Stylistically they tend to create work that fuses the gentle touch of folk music with an indie rock mindset with sometimes quite overt hints of French pop and a light but ever-present sprinkling of some pop-oriented jazzy feel. Their music gives off considerable club music vibes without actually being of the club music type. It is calm and collected, measured, and cerebral with an adventurous but low-key approach. It maintains a level of high-end cool that does not sacrifice the underlying warmth of their sound. The brothers each have their own body of work as solo artists, each with an overall sound that remains more or less in close proximity of their joint work.
