    Outline

Meatbodies is a Los Angeles based band led by Chad Ubovich that plays garage rock with a relatively harder edge, often in the same overall ballpark as Ty Segall, who Ubovich  has worked with in the past. Their music tends to cross over into Black Sabbath type heavy rock territory with some frequency, with strong melodic lines and catchy riffs. There is an edge to the way they play and they often get loud, but the music also feels organic and warm. Partly because of the type of music they are emulating, partly the result of the chemistry between the members, the band sounds like they could just keep jamming. Their 2021 album 333 is stylistically more eclectic than its predecessors, which adds a nice variety to their current catalog.

Ty Segall, Mike Krol, Mikal Cronin

Chad Ubovich played bass in Mikal Cronin's and Ty Segall's bands at different times in the past.
