Newhvn

Built around the partnership between guitarist Dara Tohill and drummer Patrick Blaney, who previously put out a good chunk of music as A Burial At Sea, the four-piece band Newhvn is a different band altogether. Whereas the former explored post-rock grounds with their drone-based, metal-curious sound, the latter is an unabashed alt-rock band that uses elements of grunge, and shoegaze to some extent, to create high energy music that pushes a very different set of buttons. They still have a flair for a dramatic flow in this new outfit, except that they tack to a grittier and more immediate winds to sail some turbulent seas.
