Kamikaze Nurse

Nominally a force of shoegaze, Kamikaze Nurse has a way of bringing a richer array of styles together to forge a distinctive sound that is still shoegaze at its core, but moves in a fairly adventurous way with substantial chunks of art punk, post-punk, and indie rock blended in. They are a dynamic band that likes to crank up the volume and go almost primal at times, whether in the vocal delivery or in the instrumentation. Motorik beat and spoken words are also never quite off the table either. They manage to keep all these elements well-balanced, which, in turn, helps them underscore a sense of variety in their music. The result is a fascinating, imaginative, and jittery mixture that can also be quite intense.
