Daydream Twins

Daydream Twins are a band that started out much closer to dream pop with a light, misty, and melodic style in their early singles, but then shifted their center of gravity towards heavier, louder, and scuzzier tones, getting deep into the classic wall of distortion sound that was put up by bands like My Bloody Valentine in the early '90s. There are also moments where they push further into a noise/ambient territory in their self-titled 2022 debut album. The two guitarists, Jordan Terry and Aidan Babinski are the co-leads, who are grounded effectively by an outstanding rhythm section. Their songs are mostly tense and hazy, and the band delivers them with that "put your head down and keep grinding" approach that is so essential to shoegaze as a genre.
