Twin Drugs

Twin Drugs are a trio that keeps their shoegaze closer to its origins, playing the harsher, more aggressive style associated with the early pioneers of the genre such as My Bloody Valentine. It is a high-powered style that builds on wall-to-wall distortion pushed by guitars whose fuzz is dialed up considerably, anchored by bold beats on the drums that occasionally slide into punchy goth patterns. Their vocals are typically hazy, buried underneath layers of instrumentation in the production. There is also a noise rock factor in their overall sound that, together with their dark tones and primal beats, gives them a little bit of industrial feel, which is especially prominent in their 2022 album In Now Less Than Ever.
