The Lounge Society

The Lounge Society is a four-piece band has grown out of the current wave of post-punk revival. They are from the same rural region (Calder Valley in West Yorkshire) that also produced Working Men's Club, The Goa Express and The Orielles. Their music combines '80s jangly guitars with Television style angular and halting flow and jagged melodies. Sometimes they rock out, sometimes they keep things funky, but most often, they are fairly deep down the middle of the post-punk territory with a relatively harsh attack where they make a very effective use of their dual guitar action. Their songs, often politically loaded, sound remarkably mature and fully formed for a band so early in their career.
