Folly Group

Folly Group is a four-piece post-punk band that has developed a rich sound that uses some of the classic features of the genre wrt the funky bass lines, dissonant guitars, bursting vocals that include a mixture of speak singing and shouted group choruses, so on. Then they add a layer of rhythmic complexity with additional percussion, which becomes their oomph factor while also opening up another set of tools to work with. Their music has sudden twists that can sound herky-jerky at times, but it is delivered with a lot of conviction and gusto. Hearing their music, one gets the sense that this is an ambitious band with a lot of ideas that they are in the process of sorting out.
