Egyptian Blue, aka EB or EB INC, is a post-punk band based in Brighton, that plays with high energy and in an angular, twitchy style. Their overall sound has some similarities with the work of bands like Gang of Four and Wire at their artistic peak in the late '70s and early '80s. Guitar players Andy Buss and Leith Ambrose tap into a similarly spiky sound and bring on some mean hooks without getting too catchy. As lead singer, they also apply the same kind of raw energy and conviction to their vocals. It is not all a callback though, as the band introduces elements that are fairly contemporary in terms of their production. Their music is propulsive, always pushing forward on a high gear as if the band cannot get their ideas out there fast enough.
