Jordan Rakei

Jordan Rakei is a singer-songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist born in New Zealand, raised in Brisbane, Australia, and now based in London, who works mostly in the alternative R&B and neo soul space. He also uses elements of electronic music and stretches into ambient music at times. He sings in a highly dexterous, silky voice that is also well-suited for jazz, which adds more dimension to his work as he continues to collaborate with other artists in London's jazz circles, including Richard Spaven and Alfa Mist. In his own solo work, he often opts for lush and layered arrangements and rich textures that give off James Blake like vibes, where he adds a smidge of smooth jazz into that potent mixture. He does not shy away from his emotional vulnerabilities, which is reflected in his delivery as well as his lyrics.
