Caroline Rose

An artist seemingly in perpetual motion, Caroline Rose is a singer/songwriter whose musical style continually shifts between albums. They started out as an indie folk artist, moved towards guitar-driven roots rock and rockabilly, then dove right into the world of synth-driven dance oriented pop that borders on disco. On 2023's The Art of Forgetting, they took a sharp turn in a new direction artistically, constructing meditative mood pieces and melancholic narratives. Their remarkable songwriting chops are still apparent, except that sweetness is now embedded inside a layer of electronically constructed expansive spaces and beats instead of colorful pop wrappers. Their usual sense of goofy humor and sarcasm may be taking a back seat at the moment on account of her personal story, but with an artist like Rose, one would never know what might be next.
