Haim is an indie band formed by the Haim sisters, Este, Danielle, and Alana, whose music draws inspiration from the classic rock period, especially the late '70s and early '80s Southern California sound defined by bands like Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles. They have a similar flair for vocal layers and affinity for warm and bright melodies and play as a tight ensemble, occasionally trading instruments between songs. Their 2020 album Women in Music, Pt III, saw the band's songwriting and production mature as they also expanded their musical vocabulary. The band started to bring in more variety, including songs that touched on a little garage punk, some funk, occasional jazzy bits and edgy sonic bursts, and so on. As their arrangements were streamlined, their hooks started to come to a sharper focus.
