Poppy Ajudha

Poppy Ajudhais a pop and R&B based singer-songwriter whose range of musical interests cover the ground from neo soul to jazz. She is a versatile singer with a lot of passion around social issues and feminism, which comes across very clearly in her lyrics. Musically she moves across genre boundaries but does so in a way that creates a consistent sense of fusion between the musical threads she is tugging at. She sings with a husky voice that is equally at home with R&B as it is with jazz. The overt jazziness of her earlier EPs receded a little in her 2022 album The Power in Us, partially replaced by rock accents and occasional bursts of fuzz. She is also no stranger to using some old school drum 'n' bass beats in her songs.
