My Idea

My Idea is the joint project of Lily Konigsberg (of Palberta) and Nathan Amos (of Water From Your Eyes) that grew out of their work on Konigsberg's 2021 solo album Lily We Need To Talk. It is not surprising then that their collaboration as a duo is more or less in the same artsy pop vein, which is stylistically removed from their respective bands. Their music is typically uptempo, joyful, and quite melodic. They have a knack for cranking out catchy song after catchy song without falling into a pattern. It is an idiosyncratic sound that is delightful not only in terms of their spontaneity in the studio, their playful interaction and occasional goofiness, but also because of the infectious fun they seem to be having as they keep exploring instrumentation and texture, trying out different ideas.
