Outside of the subversive influence of her bandmates in Palberta, it turns out Lily Konigsberg is a singer-songwriter with a stream of catchy melodies in her heart and perhaps a tad off-kilter though-not-by-much indie pop in her mind. She does not have any of the same manic artsy energy that her main band is known for, except for maybe an occasional wink that shows up here and there (see "True"). On the other hand, her style is not that fixed: some of her songs play like '90s lo-fi and upbeat alternative pop, other songs have disco affectations, and yet others have a dreamy, hazy quality and feel more sedate. The common feature in all that, however, is her generous application of solid pop hooks to decorate her songs, top to bottom in some cases.
