Katy Kirby

Katy Kirby is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville whose music is a mix of indie pop and folk, with wonderfully perky melodies and a lively tempo. She has plenty of smart pop hooks to spare, some of them delicious earworms (see, Traffic!). Her music has a bouncy and mellow feel. She delivers her songs in a loose manner as if she is the only person in the room. Her sparkly vocals are matched to her songs perfectly, which also ends up underselling the strength of the songs a little. She has a sweet and gentle voice that can switch between a small and intimate coffee shop tone and a more amplified, small venue mode.
