Jealous of the Birds

Jealous of the Birds is the stage name for the Belfast based singer/songwriter Naomi Hamilton, whose music often alternates between low-key folk to alt-rock with soft edges. Her songs tend to be uptempo and pop friendly more often than not, and always with introspective lyrics. She writes melodies that are confident and catchy, and delivers them in a voice that is at ease in both intimate and quiet settings and the punchier, electric numbers.  Her earlier work went deeper into the folk sound, while her alt-rock in that period came with a grungier feel. The pop accents of her music became more overt with 2020's Peninsula, which incorporates an easy, rolling, fluid feel, letting the strength of her tunes do the work.
