Haley Heynderickx is a singer, songwriter, and a guitar player based in Portland, Oregon. Her music has the coffee house intimacy with quiet melodies that are more fully appreciated in a calmer mindset and whose impact tends to go deeper with each listen. Her lyrics often focus on the philosophical underpinnings of a mundane life handled with a mixture of dry humor and emotional openness. The arrangements are usually fairly sparse. She is crafty on her guitar, especially with her finger picking technique she apparently picked up from listening to past masters like Leo Kottke.  She has a strong voice that can soar when she lets go, though she has the tendency to mostly keep it close to her vest when she is singing.
