Loyle Carner

Loyle Carner, aka Benjamin Gerard Coyle-Larner, is a hip-hop artist with a conversational delivery who has a mostly unhurried and relaxed style. He stays even keeled while he raps his introspective and confessional pieces often relating aspects of his personal life, his coming to terms with his familial background, his place in society, and becoming a parent. He does all this with lyrics that have a strong poetic spark. His music has noticeable jazz tendencies, perhaps not overt and at the forefront, but still making its presence felt. He has been working with an impressive array of artists in London's jazz community, including Alfa Mist, Richard Spaven, and Tom Misch.
