Cola

Cola is a band that was formed after the end of Ought by two of its members, singer-guitarist Tim Darcy and bass player Ben Stidworthy. Their sound is not too far removed from the band it replaces, especially their final album, Room Inside the World (2018). In fact, Ought's sound often comes across as a follow through to its antecedent's forward motion, except for being more streamlined and tightened up, with some of the extra layers taken out, which ends up sharpening their music considerably. They also revisit a lot of the elements that were key to bands like Wire and Television in the '80s, as well as some of the upbeat action that has always given Spoon its trademark sound. Darcy continues to provide his distinct vocals while Stidworth and drummer Evan Cartwright are quite locked in, as if they had been playing together or years.
