TV Priest is a four-piece band based in London, whose music is built on the textbook post-punk logic: muscular bass riffs that define the song's melodic core and drums that pound the four corners of the beat until everything is airtight. The guitars are more or less bare, without a lot of pedal effects, and they are generally mixed low. Vocals are handled in a speak-sing style with an accented meter and is packed with swagger. The basic framework of their music is comparable to some of the other bands who work in the genre, such as Protormartyr and IDLES. The band's songs hold up very well against such bands though. Their hooks are solid, and their sound is consistent. Singer Charlie Drinkwater's borderline slurry delivery comes across as a tribute to the late great Mark E. Smith of The Fall, especially his work in the mid '90s.
