Armand Hammer

Armand Hammer is a hip-hop duo of hip-hop artists billy woods and ELUCID, both of whom had already earned their reputation as boundary pushers on their own before they joined forces. The experimental nature of both rappers' work happily extends into this collaboration especially in the sounds and textures they create. They often use jagged, angular loops with creative instrumentation choices, as they deliver their rhymes in an emphatic manner. They have been increasingly incorporating more jazzy snippets into their music recently, which may have smoothed their tone to some extent. This was especially the case on their 2021 album Haram, where they also worked with producer The Alchemist, though they returned to their edgy selves on their follow-up, We Buy Diabetic Test Strips (2023).
