Singer-songwriter Yazmin Lacey creates songs that combine cool and laid back neo soul with sultry jazz. Her music comes with a natural sway and a restrained smooth bounce, mostly settled in a comfortable mid tempo range. She croons gently with her smoky voice in ways that are similar to her contemporary, Ego Ella May. There are apparent through lines between her work and the legacy of the music that Sade put out in the '80s in terms of tone and style. Lacey also has an impressive array of musicians to work with in her recordings where she is often accompanied by the top notch talent from London's jazz community, including Femi Koleoso (of Ezra Collective) and Sarah Tandy.
