Ezra Collective is a band known for their powerful Afrobeat oriented sound. They are one of the major acts that have emerged from London jazz scene in recent years and like many of the other bands and artists working in the same environment, they also incorporate elements of hip-hop, grime, Latin, and Caribbean music. The band is led by drummer Femi Koleoso whose fiery drumming operates in almost perfect mind-meld with the highly accomplished Joe Armon-Jones on keyboards. Bracketed between the two is TJ Koleoso (Femi's brother) on bass, who anchors the band with his understated but confident funk. Dylan Jones and James Mollison on trumpet and saxophone complete the ensemble. Their music is open to a variety of genres and styles growing up in London exposed them to, but Fela Kuti inspired Afrobeat appears to be where the band comes home to at the end of the day.
