Vanessa Zamora is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who mostly plays gentle ballads with a smooth pop touch and a light handed, somewhat breezy melodic flow. Her instrumentation is old school in some sense, gravitating towards the funky pop of the late '70s/mid '80s and traditional R&B, but then she opens it up with her keyboard work, which adds a nice touch. There is a bit a psychedelic wooziness to her arrangements. It is never quite overt, but it is never too far from the surface. She sings exclusively in Spanish and in a slightly smoky voice that feels honest and direct. She stretched her piano muscles and classical training on tornaluna pocket (2019) which was the full piano version of her 2018 album Tornaluna.
