Magic City Hippies
Outline
What Magic City Hippies puts out is as much a laid-back state of mind as it is a body of laid-back music that mixes funk and pop with subtle Latin and/or Caribbean accents. Their songs tend to move like a tropical breeze in a way that makes one wonder where the pool party is. Or the beach party. Not a wild one, though. A party where folks are cool, well-behaved, and interested in having a good time. The trio is based in Miami. Their songs are invariably groovy, sometimes explicitly dance-oriented, moody at times, and they are frequently synth-pop or synth-pop adjacent. It is music with a light heart, strong hooks, and catchy tunes specifically designed for times when that is exactly the kind of thing one needs.
