Madison McFerrin

Madison McFerrin is a singer-songwriter who works primarily in the alternative R&B style, though she also borrows quite a bit from electronic music and jazz. Her more recent work has been gravitating towards electronic production techniques to mix her slow jam grooves with sparse instrumentation.  Her songs are often rooted in the R&B and soul traditions, but her singing is clearly shaped by jazz.  She is recognized as a fantastic vocalist. Her first two EPs were exclusively a cappella jazz recordings, which were perhaps a not-so-subtle tip of the hat to the jazz great and a cappella wizard, Bobby McFerrin.
