L.A. Witch

L.A. Witch (or LA Witch) is a Los Angeles based garage band whose musical style stretches further into the surf rock territory, though not in a "fun times at the beach" way. The band, led by singer-guitarist Sade Sanchez, goes after a darker sound instead where her surf guitar begins to acquire a hint of dark western tones. The rhythm section, on the other hand, has a sharp sound that gives the songs a good push without being too aggressive about it. The trio generally plays with some restraint but when they take it to the next level, all the throbbing pulse and distortion one would normally expect kick right in on cue, giving them a fuller garage sound. Their music generally sticks to the mid-tempo range, with Sanchez keeps her affect relatively neutral when she is singing which gives off mild Courtney Barnett vibes every now and then.
