Lost Girls

Lost Girls are Jenny Hval and multi-instrumentalist Håvard Volden, who has been a member of Hval's live band for many years. Together, they create sophisticated art pop with an experimental edge that is moody, atmospheric, and immersive. In terms of tone and temperament, they are in the vicinity of Björk, specifically in her feet-on-the-ground moments, though the duo tends to be quite a bit warmer and far less anxiety inducing. They often build on club style beats -- when they are not deep into their floating ambient textures, that is. Their debut album, Menneskekkollektivet (2021), contains some Laurie Anderson meets Brian Eno type moments in the way they combine spoken word narratives with intricately layered beats and electronics loops.
