Circuit Des Yeux is the moniker for singer-songwriter Haley Fohr, who uses elements of orchestral classical music to create a broad and expansive soundscape with a wide angle feel. It is hard to call her music ambient though, since it builds layers of tension and conveys a strong sense of a narrative arc. Her work is dramatic and captivating whether she has upped the tempo with a solid and often hypnotic beat, or has slowed things down and opened a lot of space in her music. It can be challenging and unsettling, and may need some acclimation. She has a remarkable four octave voice with quite a low register that she likes to use, which gives her music an almost operatic sense, or at least very strong Scott Walker vibes when she turns it on.
